Willie James Shields, 72, of Rosebud, died Monday, June 25, 2018, at a Temple Hospital. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Cook-Gerngross-Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Rosebud. Rev. Charles Clark officiating. Burial will follow in Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.
Mr. Shields was born August 28, 1945 in Rosebud to Carrie Lee Page and Ira Shields. He graduated from Wilson White High School in Rosebud and Nursing School at Temple College. He married Belta Quinata on December 31, 1975. He served in the US Army and retired with the rank of Sergeant First Class. He managed the Cliff Roberts Apartments in Rosebud and worked as a Licensed Vocational Nurse.
He is survived by his wife, Belta Shields of Rosebud
Five daughters, Youlanda Taylor and husband Tim of Fort Worth, Adrienne Thurmon and husband Richard of Iola, Alma Lynn Shields of Cameron, Lonnie Shields of Dallas, and Teresa Ortiz and husband Thomas of Branchville.
