William Arnold Kornegay

Mr. William Arnold Kornegay, 92, of Gause, TX, passed away Tuesday, August 21 in a Bryan hospice facility. Services will be held Sunday, August 26 at 2:00 p.m. at the Gause Full Gospel Church with Jerry Burns officiating. Interment will follow in the Gause cemetery.

Mr. Kornegay was born June 18, 1926 in Gause to Robert A. and Bessie (Green) Kornegay. He was a rancher in Milam County most of his life.  Mr. Kornegay was a member and past president of the Texas Southern Gospel Music Association and a member of the Gause Full Gospel Church. He was married to Mary Gladys Kornegay, who preceded him in death in 2009.

Survivors include:

1) Son: Billy Kornegay and wife, Shannon, of Rockdale

3) Daughters: Janice Kornegay of Arlington, TX, Stephany Gladd and husband, Gary, of Alvarado, TX, and Pam Courtney and husband, Odis, of Gause.

1) Brother: Harold Kornegay and wife, Patty,  of Snyder, TX

1) Sister: Gladys Keith of Macon, GA

Also surviving are eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he is also preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Debbie in 1996.

Visitation for the family will be held Saturday, August 25 from 5-7 at the funeral home.
