Virginia passed away at her home Thursday, July 21, 2022 having being cared for by her family after an extended illness. Virginia was born August 1922 to Charles and Nettie Stuckey in the Travis-Live Oak Community at the home of her paternal grandfather and grandmother, Felix and Irene Wallace. Virginia was taught first grade at home by her mother, a retired school teacher. She attended grades 2-7 at the Live Oak Community School. She attended Lott High School in grade 8 and Rosebud High School in grades 9-11. Virginia attended Business School with training in Accounting. She was employed in the field of Accounting for many years and then later became a Real Estate Broker in Irving. Virginia married Bill Sharp in January 1945 and lived in Dallas. Shortly after marriage Virginia and Bill moved to Irving where they raised their three children. Virginia and Bill were active members of First Baptist Church in Irving. Virginia and Bill retired to the farm outside of Rosebud. Virginia was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Rosebud and taught Sunday School. She was a active member of the Wednesday Study Club, VFW Auxiliary, and undertook other Volunteer activities in Rosebud. She quilted and crochet and enjoyed other crafts of which her friends and family benefitted. She also enjoyed traveling. Virginia was proceeded in death by her husband, her great grandson, Soren Wistrand, her daughter-in-law Elaine Sharp, and her sister, Ruth Franklin. Survivors include: her daughter; Patricia, her sons; Steven and wife, Brenda; and Barry and wife, Iris; her brother, Charles Stuckey; six grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; good and lifetime friend Pauline Grover; Julie Parish, care giver and friend; and Felix the cat. Visitation for Virginia will be at the Cook-Gerngross-Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Rosebud, Sunday, July 24th between 4-6pm. Funeral Services will be held Monday July 25th at 10:00 at the Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Philips Cemetery in Travis. Pall Bearers will be: Larry Azlin, Carson Wallace, Leslie Lorenz, Charlie Michalk, Doug Sonntag and Joe Williams. The family wants to express their gratitude to Embrace Hospice for their care, kindness and support. Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers to First Baptist Church in Rosebud, Alzheimer’s Association, or charity of your choosing.
