Services for Tommy Elliston, Sr., 69 of Waco, Texas, formerly of Lott, Texas will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 3, 2024 in Cook-Gerngross-Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Rosebud. Rev. Don Fulton will officiate. Burial will follow in Clover Hill Cemetery in Lott.
Mr. Elliston died Friday June 28th in a Waco Hospital.
He was born September 3, 1954 in Kermit, Texas to Ruben and Dorothy Cervenka Elliston. He grew up in Lott and graduated from Rosebud-Lott High School in 1973. He married Brenda Smith on March 7, 1975. She preceded him in death on August 28, 1999.
He is survived by his two children, Melissa Oney and husband Danny of Waco and Tommy Elliston Jr. and wife Missi of Brady, one grandchild Brian Elliston also of Brady, two brothers Carl Elliston of Cameron and Donnie Elliston of Lott, two sisters, Linda Jones of Temple and Rosalie Haverstick of Rosebud. He is also survived by six nieces and nephews; Lisa Haverstick, Kristi Ottis and husband Brian, Robert and Brad Elliston, and Madison and Alyssa Yosten. He loved his dogs too, Cookie, Rascal, and Booger.
His work history includes Baca Building Center after high school, then Chupik Corporation, Plas Clad, American Desk and Artco Bell in Temple. He then did construction work with his cousins.
He loved being outdoors fishing and all things football, especially the Dallas Cowboys.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Clover Hill Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 326, Lott, TX 76656 or to charities of choice.
A Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
