Rev. Thomas Dusek, 84, of Tucson, AZ, formerly of Cameron, passed from this world to his heavenly home on Friday, May 11, 2018. Services for Rev. Dusek will be held Wednesday, May 16 at 10:00 a.m. in the Kathryn W. Green Chapel of Green-Patterson Funeral Home with Richard Crowe officiating. Graveside services with military honors will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Cameron.


Thomas Clayton Dusek was born November 24, 1933, in Cameron, TX to Joe and Celia Ann Dusek.  Thomas graduated from C. H. Yoe High School in 1952.  He served in the U.S. Army for three years during the Korean War, including a year at the Pacific Proving Grounds in the Marshall Islands.  Thomas was a Baptist pastor for 45 years in Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona.  He received a B.S. degree from Howard Payne University in Brownwood, TX in 1962, received an M.A. degree from Sam Houston State University in 1974, and did post graduate work for one year at Texas A&M University.  Thomas taught history, government, speech and drama in high school for 30 years; he also taught part time at Temple College.  After retiring from school teaching, he served as a constable in Milam County, TX for six years.

Survivors include his wife Glenda of 60 years

Two sons:  Lansing Gibbs Dusek and his wife Sherry of Greenville, SC and Thomas Glen Dusek and his wife Cynthia of Tucson, AZ.
Six grandchildren:  Robin Dusek, Raven Applebaum and her husband Phillip, Kaitlyn Dusek, Carson Dusek and his wife Lexus, Caleb Dusek, and Karissa Dusek. Three great grandchildren:  Addison, Aliza, and Asher Applebaum
Many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and two sisters.

Thomas was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.  He considered his family to be his greatest achievement, and he loved them dearly.  He was a faithful and generous servant of the Lord, with a special heart and gift for lifting up others and sharing the love and hope of our savior Jesus Christ with them.  In his later years, he had great joy in supporting 25 children through Compassion International.

Visitation for the family will be held Tuesday, May 15, from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
