Rudolph Frank "Rudy" Marek Jr.

Rudolph Frank “Rudy” Marek Jr., 92, of Rosebud, died Saturday November 16, 2024 in a Cameron Nursing Home. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in First United Methodist Church in Rosebud. Rev. Phil Shuler will officiate. Burial will follow in Powers Chapel Cemetery near Rosebud.

Mr. Marek was born April 5, 1932 in the Pleasant Grove community to Rudolph and Frances Skrabanek Marek Sr. He lived all of his life in the Rosebud area. He served in the US Army and married Virginia Mears on August 22, 1959. He worked for McAtee Chevrolet and owned the 5th Street Garage and Marek Tire in Rosebud. He also worked as a rural letter carrier for the United States Postal Service. He was a member of the Rosebud Volunteer Fire Department for 29 years and was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife and by one son, Dale Marek.

Memorials may be made to the Rosebud Volunteer Fire Department.

He is survived by one son, Dave Marek and wife Melissa of Four Oaks, North Carolina, two daughters, Sherrie Kelley and husband Dwight and Pattie Marek both of Rosebud. 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Cook-Gerngross-Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Rosebud.
