Melba Shelton Jones

Mrs. Melba L. (Shelton) Jones, 90, of Rogers, passed away Monday, August 9, 2021, at a Temple hospital. Services for Mrs. Jones will be held Thursday, August 12, 2021, at 10:00 a.m., at the Kathryn W. Green Chapel of Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Cameron, with Rev. Randy Holtzclaw officiating. Burial will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Baytown, TX.

Mrs. Jones was born January 30, 1931, in Baytown, to Era and Maggie May (McDowell) Rossar.  Mrs. Jones was a nurse for 31 years. She was the co-owner of Hometown Nursing Agency. She married Robert Shelton in 1945 He preceded her in death in 1970. Also preceding her in death was one daughter, Linda Nell Shelton White, in 1975. She was a member of the Davilla Assembly of God.

Mrs. Jones is survived by her son, Robert Larry Shelton, of Waco, and three grandchildren, James Robert White of Webster, TX, Lindsey Elise Clare of Friendswood, TX, and Marcus Slade Merchant of Baytown, TX.
