Mary Lou Renfro, 84, of Lott, died Sunday, February 6, 2022, in a Waco Hospital. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday in the First Baptist Church in Lott. Rev. Stephen James and Rev. Bill Perdue will officiate. Burial will follow at Clover Hill Cemetery in Lott.
Mary Lou was born in Rosebud on August 30, 1937 to James and Ava Lou Griffin Self. She graduated from Lott High School in 1954. She married Roy Renfro, December 23, 1954. She was the school secretary for Lott Elementary School for 33 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lott, taught Sunday School and was the church organist for over 50 years. She served on the Clover Hill Cemetery Board and was active in many charities in the Lott area.
She was preceded in death by 3 brothers, James O. Self, Paul Self, and David Self.
She is survived by her husband, Roy Renfro of Lott, 1 son, Ron Renfro and wife Debbi of Lorena, 3 daughters, Nancy Hicks and husband Don of Selma, Sheila Ramber and husband Ted of Dickinson, and Sharon Vogel and husband Dennis of Pasadena, 2 brothers; John Self of Lott and Cecil Self of China Springs, 3 sisters; Ardath Friudenberg of New Braunfels, Ann Thrasher of Lott, and Elaine Hudson of Cameron, 6 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church in Lott “Operation Christmas Child”, or to the Clover Hill Cemetery in Lott.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Cook-Gerngross-Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Rosebud.
