Jerry Tate Brown, 80, of Gause, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 20, 2021. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 23, 2021, at 1:00 p.m., at the Kathryn W. Green Chapel of Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Cameron, with Miguel Colon officiating. A military graveside service will follow in the Liberty Cemetery, conducted by the United States Navy. Visitation with the family will be held from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m., Saturday, immediately prior to the service, at the funeral home.
Mr. Brown was born August 16, 1940, in Kingsville, TX, to John and Ida (Tate) Brown. He was a 1959 graduate of Conroe High School, and graduated from Sam Houston University in 1964, where he was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity. Mr. Brown served his country for 10 years in the United States Navy. He retired from HGM International after 44 years. After his retirement, he became ranch manager for Wayne Fisher Ranches.
Mr. Brown was an avid coin collector and took pride in his extensive collection. He will be remembered for the immeasurable love he had for his family and his great sense of humor. He took the greatest pride in being the best “Papa” to his six grandchildren. Mr. Brown was a faithful member of the Milano First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Mullinax Brown, of Gause; one son, Christopher John Brown, and wife, Lelania, of Honolulu, HI; three daughters, Stephanie Lynn Brown of Cartersville, GA, Jennifer McCary of Cameron, and Kerry Silvey and husband, Bill, of Gause. He is also survived by his sister, Sharon Brown, of Conroe; his brother-in-law, Wayne Fisher of Gause, along with brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Lee and Carolyn Carroll of Milano. Also surviving are his six grandchildren, Tate Dyer, Emma Dyer, Cole Dyer, Samantha McCary, Kate Silvey and Nikki Felton.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials to Milano First Baptist Church, 211 S. Church St., Milano, TX 76556
