Glen Lively, 79, of Whitney, passed away Sunday, March 27, 2022. A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 31, 2022, at 2:00 p.m., at White Bluff Chapel, with Rev. Randy Marshall officiating.  An inurnment service will be held at the White Bluff columbarium at a later date.

Glen was born August 30, 1942, in Mineral Wells, to John Henry Sr. and Marie (Davis) Lively. He graduated from Athens High School in 1960. He attended North Texas State University, where he obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Biology and a Master’s degree in Education. It is at North Texas where he met the love of his life, Madeleine Gélineau. They were married January 30, 1965, in Corsicana. After they were married, Glen became the golf pro at Corsicana Country Club. The couple moved to Tyler in 1968, where Glen began his teaching career while volunteer coaching at Gorman Catholic High School. They moved to Arlington in 1975, where he taught 7 th grade Life Science at Gunn Jr. High until his retirement.

Glen and Madeleine became a part of the White Bluff community in 1992, where he was an avid golfer. Glen became “Papa” in 1999 with the birth of their first grandchild. Glen and Madeleine are faithful members of the White Bluff Chapel. Glen will be remembered by his friends, among other things, for his kindness and witty sense of humor. He was an excellent golfer and always made the time on the golf course with him fun and memorable. He also had a sweet tooth and loved it when friends would bring him candy. Most of all, Glen will be remembered for his love for his family, especially Madeleine. Their love and devotion for each other was always evident and admired. He was the kind of person that made you feel fortunate that he was your friend and neighbor.

His survivors include his wife Madeleine Lively of Whitney.

Two Sons: Robert A. Lively and wife, Linda, of Mansfield, and Michael J. Lively, and husband, Jeff Hutton, of Dallas

One Daughter: Allison Lively, and husband, Patrick Sullivan, of Waxahachie

Three Grandchildren:  Emmeline, Campbell, and Patrick Beck Sullivan, all of Waxahachie.

Two Brothers: John Henry Lively Jr., and wife, Mary Jo, of Lake Jackson, and Billy Joe Lively and wife, Diana, of Rockwall.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to the White Bluff Chapel Scholarship Fund, 1072 White Bluff Drive, Whitney TX 76692. Please write Glen Lively in the memo line.
