Gary Conners, 82, of Lott, died Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at his residence. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Church of the Visitation in Westphalia. Rev. Ron Feather officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Westphalia. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Friday in Cook-Gerngross-Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Rosebud.
Mr. Conners was born March 9, 1935 in Kittanning, PA to Leonard and Margaret Annabelle Sinclair Conners. He graduated from Punxsutawney High School where he was an All American football player. He also played football for Indiana University and professionally for the Baltimore Colts. He served in the US Army and married Mary Helen Greger on January 14, 1961. He was a construction contractor, retiring from Young Brothers in Waco and started Conners Crushed Stone in 1983. He served as trustee on the Rosebud-Lott School Board and was a member of the Church of the Visitation in Westphalia and Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lott.
He was preceded in death by his wife, son, Greg Conners, grandson, Rex Conners, and brother Tim Conners.
He is survived by two sons, Scott Conners and wife Pam of Lott and Jeff Conners and wife Jackie of Waco. Two brothers, Pat Conners and wife Deanna of Fairmount, PA and Ron Conners and wife Nancy of Newton Falls, Ohio. Five Grandchildren, Constance Waller and husband Colby, Victoria Taylor and husband Jake, Allison Cooke and husband Casey, Jarod Conners, and Jason Conners. Five Great Grandchildren, Lane Waller, Asher Taylor, Joleigh Taylor, Heath Waller, and Lyle Cooke.
Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church Building Fund in Lott.
