Edna Wallace Crites Golding, devoted wife, loving mother, and proud grandmother and great grandmother. Edna was born in rural Falls County, Texas on November 16, 1934 to Edward and Bessie Crites. She grew up in and around Lott, Texas and graduated valedictorian of the 1951 class of Lott High School. She married the love of her life, Raymond Lawrence Golding Jr on December 21, 1956 and they enjoyed more than 61 years of marriage. Together, they raised a wonderful family in Dallas. They retired and returned to live in Lott in 1994 where they enjoyed “life in the country” and renewing old friendships, especially those in the “Over the Hill Gang”. She passed away very peacefully on Friday, January 19, 2018 in Marlin, not very far from where she was born.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Loucille Hancock Lewis, and her beautiful daughter, Susan Gail Golding Scirratt.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband Raymond, two sons, Stephen Golding and his wife Ann of Irving, and Travis Golding of Midland. She is also survived by three grandchildren who she was very proud of: Garrett Golding and his wife Elizabeth, Mallory Golding Mullen and her husband Brian, and Austin Scirratt, as well as one great-grandaughter, Quinn Rebecca Golding.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday in Clover Hill Cemetery in Lott. Rev. David Thomas officiating. Viewing will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Monday at Cook-Gerngross-Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Rosebud.
