Charles L Williams

Charles L. (Chile) Williams, 77, of Rosebud, passed away on October 24, 2017, in a Temple Hospital. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 2, 2017 at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen. Rev. Judy Gotcher officiating.

Chile was born July 11, 1940 in Cameron to Milton and Maebell (Mable) Penney Williams. He graduated from CH Yoe High School and joined the U.S. Army. He married Beverly Ocker, of Rosebud, on October 30, 1963 in Verona, Italy. He retired after 22 years of service in the Army. He made Rosebud his home after his military career and worked for Rosebud Auto & Tractor Supply before retiring completely. He enjoyed playing golf and bowling. He bowled on the Silver Strikers and Primetimers Leagues for several years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, step-dad, Billy B Hobday and two brothers, Bobby B Williams and Eddie W Williams.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Beverly Ocker Williams, daughter, Lisa Williams Maruna and husband Mark of Belton, and sons, Charles L (Bubba) Williams and wife Joanne of Rosebud, and Mark A Williams and wife Alisa of Fayetteville, NC., brother, Ronnie M Williams of Haynesville, LA, Five Grandchildren, Cory Maruna, Chance Maruna, Chris Williams, Alana Williams, Katelynn Williams, Three Great Grandchildren, Brayden Maruna, Nova Maruna, Serinity Maruna.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project at www.woundedwarriorproject.org or to the charity of choice.

Cook-Gerngross-Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Rosebud is in charge of arrangements.
