Rubin Gottschalk, 97, of Temple, died Monday, November 28, 2016, in a Temple Nursing Facility. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Cyclone. Rev. George Thirumangalam and Deacon Jerry Klement officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
Mr. Gottschalk was born in Westphalia on July 20, 1919 to John and Hilda Brod Gottschalk. He lived in the Westphalia and Ratibor communities most of his life. He married Leona Dornhoefer on October 31, 1939. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a farmer and also worked for Ralph Wilson Plastics and as a carpenter. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
He is survived by one son, Clyde Gottschalk of Temple, One daughter, Deanna Naivar of Temple, one sister, Olga Peske of Ballinger, four grandsons, and eight great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, and an infant daughter, Margie Nell Gottschalk.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, followed by a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Cook-Gerngross-Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Rosebud.
