Melvin Wright, 90, of Rosebud, died Tuesday, May 31, 2016, in a Rosebud Nursing Home. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday in First United Methodist Church in Rosebud. Rev. Wayne Stork officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery in Rosebud.
Mr. Wright was born September 10, 1925 in Rosebud to Grady and Minnie Wieser Wright. He lived all of his life in Rosebud. He graduated from Rosebud High School in 1943 and married Marjorie Bernsen on September 15, 1949. He served in the U.S. Navy and worked as a commercial printer at the Rosebud News for over 40 years. He was a retired Rosebud Volunteer Fireman, Falls County Fire District Commissioner, and Board member of Woodland Cemetery. He helped organize EMS Service for the Rosebud area. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Rosebud where he held many offices and taught Sunday School for 42 years.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Wright of Rosebud.
Memorials may be made to the Rosebud Volunteer Fire Dept., Woodland Cemetery, or Fire District # 3.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Cook-Gerngross-Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Rosebud.
