Roy Cox, 96, of Lott, died Thursday, July 23, 2015 in Bryan. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m.Friday in First Baptist Church in Lott. Rev. Stephen James and Rev. Randy Osborne officiating. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m.Friday at Giesenschlag Cemetery near Snook.
Mr. Cox was born September 12, 1918 in Oenaville to Henry and Georgie Little Cox. He grew up in Lott and married Billie Lorraine Bentley. After her death, he married Mary Bockholt Herzog. He worked as a truck driver and cotton gin operator. He was a deacon at Lone Oak Baptist Church in Snook and presently was a member of First Baptist Church in Lott.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Cox of Lott
Two daughters: Betty Vernon and husband Don and Barbara Wade and husband Stan both of Bryan.
Two sons: Roy Wayne Cox and wife Virginia of Hearne and Lloyd Dwayne Cox of Houston
Stepson: Andy Herzog and wife Diane of Westphalia
Step daughter:: Frances Ellison
Numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren
Memorials may be made to Brazos Valley Hospice or First Baptist Church in Lott.
Visitation will be held 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday in Cook-Gerngross-Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Rosebud.
