Mrs. Clarence Flournoy (Gloria Jean) born November 20, 1921 to Emily and Lester Haston passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2015. Gloria graduated from Cooper High School and attended college at East Texas Commerce. She lived in Dallas and later moved to Austin,
Texas where she married Clarence Richard Flournoy on February 15, 1956 whom was the love of her life. Mrs. Flournoy was very active in local politics and numerous charities in and around the Austin area. Gloria was especially active in the American Heart Association where she served as president for many years. Mrs. Flournoy was a very kind and generous person who said, “You can always find SOMETHING nice to say about anyone”, which she always did. She was proceed in death by her dear husband Clarence of 42 wonderful years, her lifelong friends Clyde and Cherie Copus of Austin, her sister/cousin Joy Harper of California, her parents and many other family members. She is survived by her long time friend and caregiver, Glenn Dutton, his wife Jacque and their son Ryan, step children Jeannine Brown Family of Horseshoe Bay and Richard Flournoy of San Antonio, sister/cousin Jean Blount family, nephew Lester and Mary Haston family, long time family friends Cherie Copus (PC), Carin Baker and Cyndi Fisher Families, grandchildren Robert Shirey family, Scott Shirey family, Mark Shirey family and Craig Flournoy family. Graveside services will be Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at 10am at Austin Memorial Park, 2800 Hancock Drive, Austin, Texas. In lieu of flowers Mrs. Flournoy requested donations be made to Westphalia Celebration Park, c\o Emily Hering, 536 County Road 367, Rosebud, Texas 76570.
