The family of Pat Garrett is very saddened to announce that he has gone home to be with our Lord at the early age of 39. Pat and Amy were married for 15 years and were blessed with three special children in their lives. Pat's life revolved around his family as a protector and provider. He was truly the best son, brother, husband, father and friend anyone could hope to ever have. Pat was known for being a very hard worker, his strong stature and his loving heart. Pat was a cowboy's cowboy. He cowboyed all his life and was known for having the ways and manners of the old cowboys. Pat was a true cattleman who had a way with horses and dogs that others had written off as unworkable or untrainable. His understanding and respect for these animals was a gift and something special to watch. Pat was truly a "Top Hand."
Pat found great pride and peace in working hard and believed in a firm
handshake to seal a deal. After a hard day's work, Pat never hesitated to pitch in and help someone else finish their work. He could fix anything and was a talented welder. Pat loved and took special care with animals, babies and elderly people. Pat was never heard passing judgment on others and he firmly believed in giving people second chances.
Pat had great faith in the Lord, and no matter how tired or dirty he was at the end of the day, he would always take time to say the blessing with his family before eating dinner each night. Pat was truly thankful for the little things in life, even for the struggles along the way. Pat's struggles and hardships helped mold him into the mountain of a man he was. He measured his riches by how many friends he had and the type of friend he was to others. Pat loved to make others laugh and smile and was happiest when surrounded by family and friends. Pat's message to the world was always "spend time with your loved ones while you still can." Pat Garrett was one of a kind. His family finds peace in knowing that his hard work and time here on Earth has now been traded in for an eternal life with the Lord.
