Gaylen Ann Decker Hoffmann, age 73, of Holland, Texas, passed away on March 1, 2014, surrounded with the love of family and friends. Gaylen was born on September 2, 1940, in Austin, Texas.
Gaylen was preceded in death by her father, Joe Preston Decker; mother, Addie Marie Decker; and granddaughter, Courtney Denise Gommert. Gaylen is survived by sons David Dwayne Hoffmann and wife, Ruth, of Chester, California, and Donald Eugene Plachno and wife, Paula, of San Angelo, Texas; daughters Elizabeth Ann Marie Casarez and husband, Tony, of Buckholts, Texas, and Erin Leigh Wolff and Stacy of Holland, Texas; brother Jerry Decker and wife, Lucille, of Holland, Texas; sisters Betty Stroud and husband, Wayne, of Holland, Texas, and Brenda White and husband, Rex, of Austin, Texas; aunt, Juanita Giasson, of Holland, Texas; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Dorothy Santos for her friendship and loving care of Gaylen.
Gaylen enjoyed careers as a hair dresser, doll maker, and antique doll dealer. A major joy of hers was attending garage sales and flea markets.
A memorial graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 15, at 12:00 Noon, at the Holland Cemetery.
