Amos Pomykal, 88, of Rosebud, died Sunday, December 29, 2013 in a Waco Hospital. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in Cook-Gerngross-Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Rosebud. Rev. Larry Zabcik officiating. Burial will follow in Pomykal Cemetery near Rosebud.
Mr. Pomykal was born April 18, 1925 in Rosebud to Joe and Meta Preusse Pomykal. He lived in Rosebud all of his life. He graduated from Rosebud High School in 1942 and married Pat Rodgers on October 1, 1947. He served in the U.S. Army and retired after 42 years of service as a rural letter carrier. He also worked as a Master Electrician, Farmer and Rancher. He was a member of Rosebud Masonic Lodge AF & AM # 745 and First United Methodist Church in Rosebud.
He is survived by his wife Pat Pomykal of Rosebud
Three Sons: Larry Joe Pomykal, Terry W. Pomykal and wife Karen, and Roger A. Pomykal and wife Rosemary all of Rosebud
One Daughter: Vicki Pomykal DeShazo of Rosebud
Two Brothers: V.G. “Bud” Pomykal and wife Helen of Rosebud and O’Gene Pomykal and wife Bettye of Mont Bellview
Five Sisters: Alda Armstrong, Bonnie Gutowski, and Mae Holm all of Houston, Leola Pechacek and JoAnn Thun and husband Bill both of Elk
7 Grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren
Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
