Funeral Services for Josephine Dayne Hayes, 99, of Cameron, will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. in the Kathryn W. Green Chapel of Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Cameron with Rev. Carl Hudson and Rev. Gary Maroney officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Cameron. She died on Monday in a Cameron nursing center.

Mrs. Hayes was born on August 1, 1914 in Cameron, Texas to C.C. and Mary (Thompson) Baylor. She graduated from C.H. Yoe High School, was a seamstress in Temple and taught sewing for Houston Independent School District Vocational Department. Mrs. Hayes attended First Baptist Church of Cameron.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver “Bill” Hayes of 58 years and her grandson Larry Orr, Jr. and sisters, Marguerite Laywell , Ruby Brady & Bernice Fikes.

Survivors:

Son: David W. Hayes and Wife Melynda of Brunswick, GA

Daughters: Sarah Jo Orr and Husband Larry of Richmond, TX and Judith Marie Johnston of Cameron

Sister: Bertha Duncum of Cameron

Sister-In-Law: Mary Hayes of Houston, TX

Grandchildren: Kimberly, Cindy, Christopher, Andrew, Jason, Todd, David, Amanda, Larry Gene (deceased), Susan, Lori, Karen & Bobby

Great-Grandchildren: Amy, David, Tiffany, Nicholas, Brandon, Wyatt, Taylor, Jackson, Isobel, Ethan, Emery, Barron, Rivers, Lily, Henry, Oliver, Elliott, Allison, Jeremy, Alicia, Melissa, Tommy, Brandon, Teri, Sierra, Olivia, Darby, Kylie & Julie

Great-Great Grandchildren: Karter, Tristan, Cayden, Leland, Emma, Joshua, Connor, Caleb, Elijah & Josiah

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 29, 2013 from 5-7 P.m. at the funeral home.
