Marie Fikes

Marie Fikes, 93, of Rosebud, died Friday, July 12, 2013, in a Rosebud Nursing Home. Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday in Cook-Gerngross-Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Rosebud. Larry Boone officiating. Burial will follow in Powers Chapel Cemetery near Rosebud.
Mrs. Fikes was born November 16, 1919 in Hempstead to Sam and Carolyn Eplen Lynch. She lived most of her life in the Briary and Pleasant Grove communities. She married Garland Fikes on March 19, 1938. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two sisters, Bernice Miller and Louise Fikes, and two brothers, Sam Lynch Jr. and Leroy Lynch.
She is survived by one daughter, Gail Clark and husband Jack of Rosebud
One Sister: Nell Sapp of Angleton
One Grandson: Brian Clark of Waco
One Sister in law: Ruby Lynch of Cameron
Memorials may be made to Powers Chapel Cemetery or Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Visitation was be held 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
