William Carroll Baugh

William Carroll Baugh, 88, of Taylor, formerly of Lott, died Wednesday, May 29, 2013 in a Georgetown Nursing Home. Services were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday in Cook-Gerngross-Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Rosebud. Dr. Mike Ayers officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Clover Hill Cemetery in Lott.
Mr. Baugh was born April 26, 1925 in Lott to Adolph and Dora Crossland Baugh. He lived in Lott until he was inducted into the U.S. Army on September 28, 1943. He served in World War II in the South Pacific and fought in the jungles of New Guinea, Leyte and Luzon in the 32nd Infantry, 127th (Red Arrow) Division. He was honorably discharged on January 18, 1946 having received the rank of Staff Sergeant. He received numerous medals, including 5 Bronze Stars.
After discharge from the Army he attended the University of Houston and was employed by Weiner’s Department Stores for 38 years.
He married Angelina Anna Elster on February 15, 1947.
He was preceded in death by his wife, one son, Philip Baugh, and 3 sisters and 2 brothers.
He is survived by two sons; Richard Baugh of Taylor and Bruce Baugh of Lake Charles, LA
Two daughters: Janet Barnes of Georgetown and Christine Alexander of Spring,
One step daughter: Angela Hicks of Austin One Brother: Melvin Baugh of Axtell
4 Grandchildren, 8 Step Grandchildren 3 Great Grandchildren and 9 Step Great Grandchildren

Visitation was held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
