Treva Patton, 78, of Portales, New Mexico, passed away April 21, 2013 in a Temple nursing center. She was a longtime resident of Artesia, New Mexico.
The funeral service will be held at Terpening & Son Mortuary chapel in Artesia, on April 26, at 2:00 p.m. with Galen Isaacs officiating. Burial will follow at Twin Oaks Memorial Park.
Visitation will be at Terpening & Son Mortuary Thursday beginning at 10:00 a.m.
Treva was born in Wilson, Oklahoma on September 23, 1934.
Treva is survived by her son, Rick Ranspot and wife, Bobbie, of Cameron, Texas; daughter, Vicki Howell and husband, Tommy, of Portales; her twin sister, Neva Chase and husband, George of Artesia; sister-in-law, Bobbie Galatian; grandchildren, Melissa Cobb and husband, Eric, Heather Farren and husband, Brandon, Michael Ranspot and wife, Jennifer, and Derek Trapp and wife, Kelly, and great-grandchildren, Christian, Carson, Maddie, Patrick, Heather, Thomas, Grady and Gage, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Treva is preceded in death by her husband, Johnny, her parents Richard and Margie Galatian, and brother, Richard.
Treva was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Portales and worked in the church library. In her lifetime she had also been a member of Loco Hills Baptist, Hermosa Baptist, and Lake Arthur First Baptist. Treva taught Sunday school, VBS and church training for many years. Treva and Johnny owned Johnny's Wholesale Floral in Artesia for a number of years and in her younger years she was a licensed pilot. Anyone who knew Treva knows she LOVED to play games!
Treva loved her family dearly and she will be a much missed Mom, Grandma, and Granny T.
