William Sampson Spicer

William Sampson “Bill” Spicer, 68, of Rosebud, died Sunday, April 14, 2013, in a Temple Hospital. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday in Cook-Gerngross-Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Rosebud. Elder Lloyd Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery in Rosebud.
Mr. Spicer was born October 18, 1944 in Eagle Pass, TX to Carl William and Belva Cravens Spicer. He grew up in rural Arkansas and attended Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, AR. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam era and worked as a brakeman for the railroad and was an antique arms dealer. He lived in Rosebud the past six years.
He is survived by one daughter: Courtney Spicer Nolan and her husband Richard II of McKinney
Two son: William Corey Spicer of Kerrville and Blaine Cortus Spicer of Allen
The mother of his children, Barbara Spicer of Allen
One Sister: Susan Petersen and husband Gary of Fort Smith, AR
3 Grandchildren: Savannah Grace Nolan, Madeline Diane Nolan, and Richard Alfred Nolan III
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.Thursday at the funeral home.
