Patsy Ruth Mullinax Fisher

PATSY RUTH FISHER went to the arms of her loving Savior surrounded by her family on Tuesday, January 29, 2013, at the age of 75 years.

She was born in Cameron, Texas, to Jewell Henry and Odell Hughes Mullinax.  Both parents preceded her in death as did her beloved son, Bryan Hubert Fisher, and her sister, Betty Stuart.

Patsy is survived by her devoted husband of 54 years, Philip Wayne Fisher; her daughter, Terri Huguenard and husband, James; three grandchildren, Harris James Huguenard, Hannah Caroline Huguenard and Carson Champton Huguenard; her aunt, Velma White; sisters Carolyn Carroll and husband, Lee, and Linda Brown and husband, Jerry; her brother-in-law, Stanley Fisher and wife, Becky; her sister-in-law, Anne Mercer and husband, Larry; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Patsy and Wayne met in the fourth grade attending school in Cameron, Texas.  They became high school sweethearts and married when Wayne started law school.  They shared full lives together.  They made their home in Houston for many years, but their hearts were never far from their roots in Central Texas.  They devoted a great deal of time and energy to their ranch home in Milam County and took great pleasure in the land and community.  Patsy was often involved in various legal related activities with Wayne and the couple travelled extensively.  Many beautiful memories were made each summer with her family and friends at their mountain home in Red River, New Mexico.

Patsy was a beautiful lady, both physically and spiritually.  She will be remembered lovingly for her strong devotion to family and friends and especially her children, grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.  She dedicated her lifetime to selflessly caring for others.  She taught them by example to live a life of care, generosity and service.  They will long remember her delight in them and her love for them.  She will also be vividly remembered for her joyful countenance and deep and abiding faith inthe Lord.  With humility, gentleness and patience, she lived a life filled with love for others.

A visitation will be held at Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Cameron, Texas, on Friday, February 1, 2013, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.  A memorial service, in celebration of Patsy’s life, will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Cameron, Texas.  Following the service, friends and family are invited to gather for a luncheon at the Church.

Those who knew Patsy Fisher understood that friendship and respect were your greatest gifts to her.  In lieu of the usual flowers or remembrances, if desired, memorials may be made in Patsy’s memory to Liberty Community Church, 4856 FM 3242, Cameron, Texas 76520.
