Ida Leone Elliott Segler, 91, of Fort Worth, died Saturday, June 16, 2012 in a Marlin Nursing Home. Services were held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday in Cook-Gerngross-Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Rosebud. Rev. Don Fulton officiating. Burial will follow in Powers Chapel Cemetery near Rosebud. Visitation was held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Segler was born December 6, 1920 in the New Salem community to John W. and Mary Maggie Tindle Elliott. She attended the Cedar Springs, New Salem, and Lott schools, graduating from Lott High School in 1939 with a very special group of students, as she referred to them.
She retired from the Department of Agriculture after more than 29 years of service as a civil servant. She was a Charter member of Southwayside Baptist Church in Fort Worth where she sang in the choir for many years. She was a member of the Soil Conservation Service Alumni Club and various others. She married Darrell M Segler on June 5, 1943 in Bryan, Texas and he preceded her in death on November 9, 1982.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 7 Brothers and Sisters, Jeff Norris, Johnnie Mae Patzke, J.W. (Dub) Elliott, Dee A. Johnson, Josie L. Allen, E.P. (Sonny) Elliott, and Kirk Elliott. 9 half brothers and sisters, Nancy Bell Elliott, Sarah Texana Elliott, James Robert Elliott, Charles Tarpley Elliott, John Albert Elliott, William Oscar Elliott, Thomas Jourdan Elliott, George Willis Elliott, and Flonnie O. Elliott
She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
