Funeral Services for Mr. Fred Thomas Johns, 80, of Cameron, were held on Sunday, June 10, 2012 at 2:30 p.m. in the Kathryn W. Green Chapel of Green-Patterson Funeral Home with Rev. Carl Hudson officiating. Burial followed at Walker’s Creek Cemetery in Cameron. He passed away on Thursday in a Cameron hospital.
Mr. Johns was born on January 16, 1932 in Cameron, TX to William and Ida (Andrews) Johns. He graduated from C.H. Yoe High School in 1950, Texas A&M University in 1954 with a Master’s Degree in Entomology and later received and additional Master’s degree in Math from Oklahoma State University.
Mr. John’s was a teacher at C.H. Yoe High School for many years. He was a member of First Baptist Church where he was a Deacon for many years, the Texas A&M University of Former Student’s Association, the Texas A&M University Century Club, the Texas Teacher’s Association and received Teacher Of The Year Award, and the Cameron Lion’s Club. Mr. John’s was also active in Walker’s Creek Cemetery Association and the C.H. Yoe High School Yoemen Booster Club.

Nephews: Michael Johns of Leesburg, TX and Paul Johns of Helotes, TX
Niece: Lori Jones of Plano, TX
Visitation was held on Sunday from 12:30 p.m. until the service time at the funeral home.
