Alma Patzke went home to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 4, 2012. She was born Feb. 27, 1929 in Maysfield, Texas to John and Ina Pevehouse. She was one of nine children. She was raised in the Maysfield community and graduated from Cameron Yoe High School. After graduating from high school she married Frank W. Patzke on September 17, 1949. They moved to the Brazosport area in 1951 where Frank was employed by Dow Chemical until his death. She spent many years as a housewife and mother. Her family was the center of her life. She retired after working 20 years for BISD at the Freeport Intermediate School where she worked in the lunch room.
Alma was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lake Jackson where she attended services regularly until her health prevented her from doing so.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, Frank w. Patzke,
parents, Ina and John Pevehouse,
brothers, Jesse Pevehouse, John Pevehouse, Jr., Nathan Pevehouse,
sisters, Ruth Mosely, and Mildred Yates.
She is survived by 2 sons: Eugene Patzke of Lake Jackson,
Jay Frank Patzke and wife Barbara of Palestine,
grandson; Jason Patzke and wife Amanda of Forney, Texas,
granddaughter-Katie Elizabeth Patzke of Palestine,
3 brothers: Virgil Pevehouse-Cameron,
Charles Roy Pevehouse of Rockdale, and
Thomas Pevehouse of Taylor., and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 6pm until 8 pm Friday at Lakewood Chapel. Funeral services will be 9:30 am, Saturday, February 11, 2012 at Lakewood Funeral Chapel with Rev. David Ketchand officiating. Interment will follow at 3:30 pm at String Prairie Cemetery near Cameron, Texas.
