Pauline Theresa Wilde, 81, of Westphalia, died Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at her residence. Services were held at 10:00 a.m. Sat., Nov. 5, 2011 in the Church of the Visitation in Westphalia. Rev. Walter Dhanwar officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Westphalia.
Mrs. Wilde was born February 5, 1930 in Runnels County near Ballinger to Frank and Emilia Halfman Block. Pauline (fondly known as Peggy) grew up surrounded by a loving family; seven sisters and two brothers. As a small child, Pauline learned to work on the farm, cook, clean, embroidery, crochet, and sew, all of which she enjoyed until her death.
Pauline married Gilbert Wilde on August 1, 1949 and moved to Bell County, near Westphalia where they farmed and raised their family. Later she worked as a seamstress for Scott and White Memorial Hospital having retired after more than 24 years of service. Retirement was spent on the Rotthoff/Wilde Homestead. She proudly stood beside Gilbert when they were recognized by the Texas Family Land Heritage for continuous ownership and operation as a family agricultural enterprise in 2001.
Pauline was a member of the Church of the Visitation at Westphalia and the Womens Altar Society.
She was preceded in death by her husband,Gilbert Wilde, an infant son, John Eugene Wilde, one infant granddaughter, two brothers and six sisters.
She is survived by two daughters: Virginia Hrachovy and husband Frank of Austin, and Beatrice Brenek and husband Edward of Temple
One son: Daniel Wilde and wife Linda of Cyclone
One sister: Helen Landis of San Angelo
5 Grandchildren: Keith Hrachovy of Katy, Alicia Fanning of Dallas, Kimberly Cross of Holland, Janice Pace of Pearland, Brian Brenek of Temple.
4 Great Grand Daughters, Taylor, Reilly, and Keely Hrachovy of Katy, Madison Cross of Holland, and a number of Nieces and Nephews.

Rosary was recited at 7:00 p.m. Friday at Cook-Gerngross-Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Rosebud.
