Thomas Joseph (Tommy Joe) Breshears Sr.,went to be with the greatest person that ever lived, his daughter Debra Jo and the rest of the family. Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Fri., Nov. 11, 2011 in Cook-Gerngross-Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Rosebud. Burial followed in Woodland Cemetery in Rosebud.
Mr. Breshears was born November 17, 1939 in Marlin to Clarence and Ruby Belle Pittman Breshears. He attended school in Marlin before serving with the 101 st Airborne Division. From attending TSTI to being a carpenter, store owner and finally being a security officer for one of the men he admired the most at McLane’s, all the time never missing a chance to watch a ballgame, play, or tell a story. After leaving Marlin in 1979 he lived in Little River until spending this last 11 month in Gatesville.
He leaves behind the people that will miss him the most, Darlene (Rohan) Hill, two sons: Thomas (Tom) Breshears Jr. and wife Mary (Brown) of Gatesville, and Tim Breshears of Temple.
Two daughters: Dona Breshears of Little River-Academy, and Dana(Breshears) Cooper and husband Joe of Gatesville.
Sister: Josie (Deanie) Thomas and husband Donald of Marlin
Grandkids: Daniel Austin, Thomas Breshears III, Craig Starcher, Joshua Adkins, Codi Cooper, Trevor Breshears, LoRee Carpenter, Chelsea Benton, Brandi Cooper, Skilee VanBavil, Stephani Cooper.
Great Grandkids: Joshua Austin, Claudia Rockwell, Lilli McDaniel, Xander Paulson, Mercedes Austin.
Visitation was held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
